Jack's taste for food was simple. In fact, one of his favorite meals was a meat pie from the Dutch Bakery and some beans. Of course this needed to be accompanied by HP Sauce and a strong cup of tea.

About Jack
Alexander John Ross was born in Lochgelly,Fife, Scotland, August 15, 1930 to Alexander John Ross and Mary Jane Cargill. He was called "Jack", a nickname that stuck with him his entire life.
Jack married Jane on June 11, 1955 in Dunfermline, Scotland and immigrated to Canada soon after.
After travelling across the atlantic for 7 days on the Empress of France they arrived in Montreal on April 13, 1956. A three day train ride took them to Winnipeg, MB where they settled (1956-1964). Until they found a place of their own, they lived with Bob and Winnie Scott. Not long after they bought a house in West Kildonen. Edmonton, AB (1965-1971)and finally settled in Victoria, BC.
